What Should I write in the an email to my former boss? Please answer!?

I want to be in the music business and my former boss (who has a management company) knows a lot of contacts in the music business. Everywhere from DC to NY to LA to international. I want to email him and ask him if he could give me some contacts.

Just say hello and ask how he is doing. Say how much “fun” or how great the experience was when you were working with him. And then say that you remember that he was “close” witht he music industry and was wondering if he could reccomend anyone possibly hiring in the field. Thank him again and say that you hope to hear from him soon. Leave your email AND phone number. Be professional.

What are your thoughts on mainstream music today?

Would you say it’s good or bad? How do you compare to what was popular 10, 20 or 30+ years ago?

I think people often confuse “mainstream” with “American Top 40″, because there’s a big difference there.

I generally do not take bands or artists from the top 40 very seriously nowadays. Sure, there might be a few songs that I like, but nothing extremely groundbreaking or amazing.

Mainstream music, I am less prejudiced towards. Again, I’m usually doubtful at first, but I’m willing to give it a listen for sure.
